The allocation is dependent on availability and seasonality, so you can be assigned any from our selection, advertised or alternatives. The final hotel selection will be confirmed no later than 15 days before departure.

+December 1, 2025: deadline for $250 deposit, due at the time of booking
+The deposit is non-refundable, but funds may be issued as a future travel credit if cancellation occurs at least 60 days prior to departure.
+March 1, 2026: remainder of balance due

+When roundtrip international flights are included, prices and availability are only guaranteed once deposits are paid.

Full Itinerary


Day 1: Inbound

Arrive at JFK airport, ready for a flight to Cartagena. 

Ready to experience the colorful Caribbean culture of Cartagena de Indias? Touch down in Cartagena de Indias and transfer to the hotel. The city sits on the Caribbean coast and is one of the main ports in Colombia. Overnight stay in Cartagena de Indias.


If your inbound flight departs in the early hours (before 4:00 a.m.) you must arrive at the airport the night before the indicated departure day.

Getting to JFK: If you need assistance with getting to JFK (e.g., Amtrak, domestic flights), inform the tour organizer. 

    Day 2: Cartagena

    Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, why not start the day with an optional cooking class* to dive right into the rich flavors and cultural heritage of Colombian cuisine. Create memories and master the recipes that capture the essence of Cartagena de Indias' gastronomic charm.

    At the indicated time, set off on an exciting journey to discover this colonial city on a Chiva: a colorful open-top bus, covered in festive decorations and vibrant art! Enjoy a panoramic tour through its most emblematic neighborhoods and learn all about Bocagrande, Castillogrande and Manga.

    Next, enter the Castle of San Felipe, one of the most important military feats of engineering of the colonial times. Finally, end your tour at the Monumento de Los Zapatos Viejos with a stop at the letters of Cartagena de Indias. The rest of the day is yours to continue discovering this vibrant city. Overnight stay in Cartagena de Indias.

    Day 3: Cartagena & Rosario Islands

    Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, set off on an enchanting trip to the Rosario islands by boat, in the middle of the turquoise Caribbean ocean. This archipelago, located off the coast of Cartagena, offers pristine beaches, coral reefs, and crystal-clear waters.


    Transfer to the docks to catch your speed boat over to the Rosario Islands National Park. The journey to the Rosario Islands provides a scenic boat ride through the Caribbean Sea. During the journey appreciate the beautiful Bay of Cartagena and Boca Chica, where the San Fernando and San José forts are located.

    After your arrival, spend the day enjoying the beach, soaking up the sunshine, swimming and snorkeling* in the wonderfully mild waters. Enjoy a delicious seafood lunch (included), freshly caught and prepared by locals.

    This experience allows you to savor the flavors of the region while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Caribbean. Transfer back to Cartagena at the indicated time and self-transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay in Cartagena.

    +Snorkeling in the Rosario Islands is subject to availability and costs approximately 30 USD an hour.

    Day 4: Cartagena

    Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you have the wonderful opportunity to unleash your creativity and make a meaningful impact at our optional coconut souvenir workshop*, where some of the proceeds go towards a local, female-led organization.

    Later in the morning, set off on a guided tour of Getsemaní neighborhood. An area that is a true mix of traditional and modern, and art and culture. Huge art installations and stunning graffitis adorn the streets, and a real alternative vibe dances in the air. Visit the Plaza de La Trinidad, an important location, where independence was conceived on November 11, 1811.

    Enjoy a guided walking tour through its streets and alleys to behold the stunning murals. See the art created by locals that tells the story of tradition and the past. In addition to this, you will live a total immersive experience of popular life in the Getsemaní neighborhood. Overnight stay in Cartagena de Indias.

      Day 5: Cartagena & Outbound

      Breakfast at the hotel*. Bid farewell to Cartagena. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for a flight back home. Arrive back home and end your trip.


      *Depending on the return flight schedule and the hotel breakfast service, you may not be able to enjoy the included breakfast on the last day.
